1. About these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Chikara website at chikara.nyc, reservations made through Resy, and any messages you exchange with us by email, web form, or Google AI-assisted messaging. By using the site or booking a table, you agree to them.
2. The restaurant
Chikara is an independently owned Japanese restaurant at 150 West 70th Street, New York, NY 10023. Counter dining is $185 per person for the omakase, before drinks, tax and gratuity. Dining-room prices are as listed on the menu.
3. Reservations and payment
Reservations are made through Resy. We do not accept advance payment or prepayment for counter or table reservations. The meal is paid at the end of the evening.
Please cancel at least 24 hours before your reservation time. Cancellations do not incur a fee. If you do not arrive and have not cancelled, a no-show fee applies: $75 per counter guest or $30 per dining-room guest.
4. Service and conduct
Service at the counter begins together. We hold seats for fifteen minutes. After that we may release them. We ask guests to avoid strong fragrance at the counter.
5. AI-assisted messaging
We may use Google AI-assisted tools to help answer common questions about the restaurant. Those replies can be generated automatically and may not always be accurate or complete. For reservations, allergies, buyouts, or anything that must be exact, use Resy or write to [email protected]. A person on the team remains responsible for the restaurant.
6. Third-party services
Booking runs through Resy. Site search, messaging and analytics may involve Google (including Search Console and AI messaging) and other providers named in our Privacy Policy. Their terms apply to their services.
7. Website content
Photographs, copy and marks on this site belong to Chikara or its licensors. You may not copy them for commercial use without permission.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
